SITE 311 CHATWIN'S CLOSE with THE SLANG (2)

OS REF:SK57251335

OS REF:SK57251335

Date: 15th August 2009

On an old map it shows this area as we see it now to have been three fields abutting West Cross Lane and a long, narrow field accessed from Gipsy Lane called The Slang. There is already a Slang off The Ridgeway so I have called this The Slang (2). It is now one field with a small corner as a separate plot which is the remains of another field now built on apart from this bit with a map Title of Site 312 Harrington Corner.

Site 311 is divided off into the usual horse areas so meadow not able to thrive.

On the field boundary of The Ridings the hedgerow is Elm, there were a lot of elm hedges planted in this area, and a row of Lime trees planted too close together to look good and are now looking in a bad state. These trees extend to the end of The Ridings at Swithland Lane.
