SITE 255 ANTHONY STREET GARDENS
Date: 2nd June 2004
Just one garden at 17a to report on at present as it contains a very interesting pond recorded as Pond 37 Ann's Pond.
It has stone walls, of rectangular shape and slopes down to the Dutchman's Wall. It dries up in the summer but in the spring is a good place for frogs and spawn. It is not known what it was used for but the present owners live in a converted barn on the site. The pond is shown on the 1884 map.
