This area belongs to Lafarge Aggregates in Mountsorrel and the three fields that make up this one site are part of an extension to the existing Southern Mound of Mountsorrel Quarry.
I need to contact Trevor Warren, Operations Manager at Lafarge to find out about site plans including tree planting.
2007
An application to extend the Southern Mound was proposed with a design to replicate the appearance of a small hill with granite outcrops. It would be cultivated and managed to achieve a naturally regenerated grass heathland and woodland. Planning Permission was granted and the work due to commence on the 1st November.
