SITE 196 WINDMILL FIELD
Date: 2nd February 2004
There really is no hard evidence to support a windmill ever being in this field and, in fact, no mills of any kind have yet been truly indentified in the parish. It is one of the more elevated site in the parish so a good contender.
A hedgerow has been removed that extended from a small copse Site 197 Breach Hedge Spinney towards the Mountsorrel boundary.
It is currently used for arable farming and gets very waterlogged. It is used as a dog walker's path to get access to the Mountsorrel Lane.
With the building of the Rothley Lodge estate and the Walton Way estate this field is now important in separating the two parishes.
