Rothley Bronze Age Hoard
The Rothley Bronze Age Hoard was found in a field off The Ridings in 2009 and currently undergoing conservation. It is hoped that the find will be on show to the public around March 2011.
The Rothley Heritage Trust has raised funds towards the purchase by Leicestershire County Council and has donated the sum of £1,000. The Hoard has been secured by Leicestershire County Council after valuation by the British Museum.
This is a very important and exciting find for the village.
The following photographs were taken just before the finds were removed for conservation. With thanks to Professor Richard Pollard for arranging this preview at very short notice and for permission to take the photographs.
GETTING A CLOSER LOOK
