Died on the 18th May 1941aged 25 years at Acle, Norfolk, from multiple injuries caused by the aeroplane in which he was a passenger crashing to the ground owing to an error of judgement on the part of the pilot.
Son of Charles James Melville Packe, Land Agent & Surveyor, and Ruth Margaret Packe, who wrote the popular 'History of Rothley' booklet in 1956.
Lieutenant Packe was buried in a Commonwealth War Grave in Rothley Cemetery, after a service in Rothley Parish Church on the 23rd May 1941. His grave inscription is 'I HAVE FOUGHT A GOOD FIGHT, I HAVE FINISHED MY COURSE'
