Anniversary of the D Day Landings

To mark the 80th Anniversary of the D. Day landings Rothley Parish Council took the decision to place a specially commissioned bench, from a company in Kilmarnock, next to the war memorial at Cross Green.

There are 20 service personnel who are honoured on the War Memorial from World War 2 two of whom, Stanley Dexter & Roy Fountain, both 26 years of age who died in Northern France in July 1944 taking part in the Western Europe Campaign.
