MINUTES 4TH NOVEMBER 1943

A meeting of the Rothley Youth Club was held at the Vicarage at 7 o'clock on Nov. 4th.
Mr. Becker (senior) continued his talk on China. It was very interesting.
The Minstrels had a full dress rehearsal. Everyone thought that it was very good. The handbells had a full rehearsal too & on the whole they put up a jolly good show.
By way of a change we danced Sir Roger de Coverly. Miss Gwen Vann played the piano.
Table-tennis, billiards & darts tournaments are making good progress.
Miss Vann also played for a little ballroom dancing.

MINUTES 11TH NOVEMBER 1943

Apparently Miss Pitts-the secretary, was not present at this meeting so I, with apologies to her, will endeavour to write a very short note on this meeting with the help of the programme.
Plays were read by various members of the Club, the readers read a whole page each. Afterwards, it was decided to act two of them (see Nov. 25th note).
The meeting broke up at the usual time (9.0-9.30) after a few games.

MINUTES 25TH NOVEMBER 1943

A meeting of the Rothley Youth Club was held at the Vicarage on Thursday 25th Nov.
Plays were arranged & practices started. The girls are doing one called "Crowning Glory" & the boys are doing "The Threat". Both are very good plays & should be very entertaining when produced.
The darts, billiards and table-tennis tournaments recommenced after having been postponed for the last fortnight. They are drawing to a close now & the finals will soon be played.
The handbells were practiced ready for Christmas. Some of the members propose to go round playing carols at Christmas for a charity.
An invitation was received from the Quorn Y.P.F. inviting the members to their social evening. It was accepted by quite a number of the members.
The meeting broke up at 9 o'clock.
