This evening Mr Jacques of Quorn Grammar School gave the Club a welcome talk on "Current Affairs".
I was not present at this meeting so no more detailed information can be given about it.

MINUTES 14TH MARCH 1946

This evening-the same as most in the present day history of the Club-nothing much was done. The usual "messing about" ensued for the greater part of the evening. One new game was played.
It was also discussed that the Club should be closed soon-the reason being that certain members are due to be called up for service in His Majesty's Forces. The girls objected to the Club being closed as they are of the opinion that they have a lot to do with the success of the proceedings and because they enjoy an evening out. Actually, the Club cannot remain in existence for much longer-no-one is keen enough, nothing is ever done and doing nothing tends to become very boring after a time, and also if we continue as at present the Vicar is sure to close the Club again, so it would be better if we closed it ourselves by mutual agreement. If we do close the money in the Club Fund will go "en bulk" towards the Easter party to which Quorn Y.P.F. have been invited.
The Service this evening was held in the Church.

MINUTES 24TH MARCH 1946

This evening, instead of an ordinary meeting, the Club went to the Public Meeting in the Village Hall to discuss a "Welcome Home" for the returning Servicemen and the proposed War Memorial.

MINUTES 28TH MARCH 1946

This evening, we started by discussing the party which we are giving with Quorn Y.P.F. as guests. It was found that, by a mistake our Secretary had informed Quorn that the party was to be held on April 11th whereas we had booked the Village Hall for April 18th. After this muddle the phone calls were made and the date of the party altered to April 11th.
Sheila conducted a Quiz prepared by Robert Lake.
Np prayers were held this evening as the Vicar was at a Church Finance Meeting.
