(THE CRISIS MONTHS!)

MINUTES 5TH JULY 1945

This evening, the members went up to Mr. Gee's in The Ridgeway to see about a site for the show in aid of the Y.M.C.A.which is being given on August Saturday.
When we got back to the Vicarage there was a notice on the notice-board which read "Next week will see the last meeting in the Vicarage of the Youth Club-signed C.L.R.Becher"
So we've got notice to quit have we? Why-no-one really knows but we've all got our various theories-some fantastic, some plausible and some subtle!

MEETINGS FROM 5TH JULY 1945 TO 18TH OCTOBER 1945

The Club for a time carried on at various members' houses but without much success. The show at Mr. Gee's was a fair success!
In September, we were allowed to return to the Vicarage once again. Here, a re-election was held.

Since this, meetings have been held every Thursday. New members have been plentiful although one of the old-timers hasn't returned.
Thurmaston Y.P.T. came over on October 11th and we went to a social at Mountsorrel on Oct. 13th. They are coming to us later on.

MEETINGS FROM 18TH OCTOBER 1945 TO NOVEMBER 15TH 1945

Meetings were held every Thursday during this period. It was decided that a Concert be held-possibly in the New Year. If this is as successful as the two previous ones, it should be pretty good.
Quizes, the usual games and arrangements for the concert have been the work of the Club during this period. Mountsorrel Youth Club came over to us on November 8th, otherwise everything has been as usual.

Talent Competition

During the first month after the reopening of the Club, a talent Competition was held, in which various members exhibited their hobbies.

MINUTES 22ND NOVEMBER 1945

Arrangements and one or two other practises took place in readiness for the concert which is to be held on January 12th 1946. Two performances are being given-a Children's Matinee, (a kind of dress rehearsal) and the usual evening performance which we hope will be perfect.
Games also took place- "Striptease" being the most popular.
We finished with the prayers-the helpful talk being given by a member of the Church Army.

MINUTES 29TH NOVEMBER 1945

More about the Concert inevitably. Arrangements are almost complete. One or two of the items have been altered and other new ones put in.
Games were played as usual. The ever-popular "hand-ball" being included.
The prayers were taken by the Vicar.
