Minutes December 1943

MINUTES 2ND DECEMBER 1943

A meeting of the Rothley Youth Club was held at 7 o'clock at the Vicarage on Thursday December 2nd.
The play "Crowning Glory" was practiced. Some of the actors were absent but otherwise it was quite successful.
Billiards, darts and table-tennis tournaments were continued.
Christmas carols were practiced on the handbells. It was decided that the boys should play the handbells instead of doing a play.
It was arranged that as many of the members as possible should go carol singing on December 20, 21, 22, & 24.
After refreshments games were played including Postman's Knock which caused a great deal of fun.
The meeting broke up at 9.30.

MINUTES 9TH DECEMBER 1943

A meeting of the Rothley Youth Club was held at 7 o'clock at the Vicarage on Thursday December 9th.
Table-tennis, billiards and darts tournaments were continued.
Early in the evening a game of "Spinning the Plate" with forfeits was played. The latter part of the game caused a great deal of amusement.
Mrs. Becker very kindly came to play the piano for us and we sang carols for the rest of the evening.
The meeting broke up at 9.0.

MINUTES 16TH DECEMBER 1943

A meeting of the Rothley Youth Club was held at 7 o'clock at the Vicarage on December 16th.
By way of a change we did some Charades. We divided up into separate groups of boys and girls. The girls acted "attention" with three syllables but the boys didn't guess it. Then they acted "secluded" & the girls guessed it first time.
Afterwards we practiced carol singing again.
Mr. Talbot played the piano for dancing.
The meeting broke up at 9.0.

On Dec. 23rd the Youth Club Party was held from 7-11 p.m. and was much enjoyed by all. [C.W.Hancock. April 8th 1944]

MINUTES 30TH DECEMBER 1943

A meeting was held in the Club Room beginning at 7.0 pm. As 3 months had elapsed since our first meeting we decided to re-elect our President and committee.

After this the committee met to plan coming events. During the committee meeting the rest of the club played table-tennis, darts and billiards. The meeting closed at 9.15.
