MINUTES 3RD AUGUST 1944

The Vicar started by giving us a talk on "Bee Keeping". Various members asked him questions about it. Then we went into the field and played baseball the result being four each, so it was fair for all! We finished with the prayers taken as usual by the Vicar.
Last evening a committee meeting was held in Bob's house, by kind permission of Mrs. Lovett. Bob, Mary, Joan and Bill were present. Bill was asked to be on the committee as he does the minutes. As Mary and Tony are 'living out' and thus will not be able to come to the Club very often, Anne Hooper was asked to join the committee as a representative of the evacuees.
The Club seems to become larger every week there are now 39 members. Naturally, they didn't all come tonight.

MINUTE KEEPER

MINUTES 10TH AUGUST 1944

Not many members turned up to-night. We had a game of "Questions and Answers" which proved somewhat amusing. Then came a discussion which was quite interesting. The Vicar also spoke about the Bible when a member wondered how the Old and New Testaments came to be joined together. The discussion was followed by a game of baseball in the field. Mrs. Becker took the prayers in the Club room.
It is very disheartening to see so few members at the Club these days and if it wasn't for the evacuees, not many would come at all-our thanks go to them for taking such an interest in the Club.

MINUTES 17TH AUGUST 1944

To begin with, we trooped to the Church, where Bob gave an interesting talk about its history and rare points.
Then we went into the field and played touch rugby-this naturally was very rough but the girls entered into it with as much zest as the boys. More games followed in the Vicarage garden.
It finished as usual with the service taken by the Vicar.

MINUTES 24TH AUGUST 1944

Last night, a committee meeting was held in Bob's house. Bob, Philip Roots, Joan and I were present-we discussed the following:-
The open day is to be postponed-indefinitely.
The decorations for Harvest Festival.
Play reading.
Concert again in the winter.
Possibility of starting a Club choir.
Philip's idea of visiting the cathedrals.
Mary's present.
Philip Roots was appointed as the new secretary.
This evening Bob told the Club about the committee meeting.
As it was raining the gym lesson for the girls had to be cancelled. The evening was spent in the boys playing billiards & Table tennis-and the girls trying too.
Nevertheless some of the girls did quite well.
After the service by the Vicar, we all went home.

MINUTES 31ST AUGUST 1944

Bob started by asking for volunteers to help decorate the Sanctuary for Harvest festival. Then we had a General Knowledge test followed by a Comic Quiz. Both were very entertaining.
We played a game of hand-ball in the Club Room and finished with the service conducted by the Vicar.
