The Parish Council and the local community wished to mark the wonderful voluntary work that Marion undertook during her lifetime. Because of her passion for trees its was thought that a fitting tribute would be the planting of a small copse of trees many of which would have fruits for birds. With help and advice from Franke Toone of Goscote Nursery 10 trees were chosen to be planted up in the north eastern corner of Fowke Street Playing Field. Family and friends gathered on the morning of 29th November 2018 to plant up the trees which included these varieties
field maple Acer campestre 'Elsrijk'
alder Alnus glutinosa 'Laciniata'
silver birch Betula Zwister's Glory
hornbeam Carpinus Betulus Fastigiata
hawthorn Crataegus monogyna 'Stricta'
hawthorn Crataegus laevigiata 'Paul's Scarlet'
bird cherry Prunus padus 'Colorata'
bird cherry Prunus avium 'Plena'
white beam Sorbus aria 'Majestica'
rowan Sorbus aucuparia 'Cardinal Royal'
