Historic Postcard Rothley

It all started at Rothley Post Office when David Lynch, the Postmaster in 2010, displayed photographs and postcards of old Rothley and we were given permission to scan them into the Rothley Village Website. This gave an opportunity for them to be seen by the wider community and especially those who now live away from the village.

When Terry Sheppard started to work on the Leicester University website My Leicestershire Digital all the old Rothley Postcards were scanned in as part of the work of the Rothley Heritage Trust. It is thanks to Barrie Pook, the owner of the collection, who gave his permission for them to be displayed on the site that the idea was born to make them into a publication. On the 1st June 2011 the book was launched at Templars in Woodgate and is now available in Rothley Community Library. (2016)
