The Festival of Archaeology ran from the 17th July to the 31st August 2010 and Leicestershire was one of the most active counties in supporting the Council of British Archaeology's (CBA) Festival of British Archaeology. This event in Rothley, organised by the Rothley Heritage Trust, was part of this Festival.

Two presentations were made with the first by Gavin Speed of Leicester University with hot news from the Temple Grange site (old allotments on the A6) and then by Lynden Cooper also of Leicester University presenting the dig at Lodge Farm with its beer drinking pottery and the meaning of stone balls in a ritual context.

Tim Upson-Smith from Northamptonshire Archaeology was there with a display of local archaeology. Tim was one of the speakers at The Rothley Colloquium held in March 2010.
