Communion Rails, Rothley Parish Church

The Fawcitt family went on to complete the commissioning of new chancel furnishings by providing a pair of Communion Rails. They bear images of the Arma Christi, the instruments of the passion of Christ. The dedication is at floor level on the extreme left hand side of the wooden altar rails and reads:

THESE ALTAR RAILS WERE GIVEN BY HIS SISTER IN PROUD MEMORY OF SUB-LIEUTENANT BERNARD FAWCITT R.N.V.R. KILLED IN ACTION. LICATA. SICILY. 10th JULY 1943
