Cllr Steve Mitchell
Steve Mitchell MBE
Co-opted Apr 2007
I was born in Epsom, Surrey in1951 and moved to Leicestershire in 1969 to start a 4 year Education/P.E. degree at Loughborough.
On leaving in 1973 I stayed and worked in a local Loughborough primary school. I moved into the village in 1993.
After 38 years of teaching I retired in July 2011 and enjoy watching sport (especially cricket, rugby and above all athletics).
I enjoy getting involved in village projects particularly in a practical way especially if they involve being outdoors.
I am a trustee of Rothley Community Library which has a wonderful array of local talented people all prepared to give of their time voluntarily to sustain this fantastic project.
I chair the Rothley Good Neighbours Scheme.
I am also a Governor at Rawlins Academy, Quorn.
