Cllr M Ferguson

Mike qualified in Medicine in Edinburgh 1979. He attained a Fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthesia in 1984. After training in Edinburgh, Norwich, Leeds and Hong Kong he moved to Leicestershire as an Intensive Care Consultant in 1988 and has just retired.

He moved from Mountsorrel to Rothley in 2007 and both he and his wife, Wendy, feel very much at home in the village.

His main interests are hill walking, photography and gardening. He has been a Trustee of the Joe Humphries Memorial Trust since October 2012 and been instrumental in creating an increased number of Community Access Defibrillators and in teaching resuscitation skills to schools and sports clubs.

He has no strong political attachments, but is keen to ensure the improvement of community services provided for all age groups within Rothley.
