1/5th Battalion Leicestershire Regiment. Previous Regimental Number 2235

Died of wounds on the 8th September 1915 in the France and Flanders Campaign aged 22 years.

Private Bowler is buried in the Boulogne Eastern Cemetery, Pas de Calais, France. Grave V111.B.77 Gravestone inscription "GOD BE WITH YOU TILL WE MEET AGAIN"

Son of Jacob and Priscilla Bowler. Brother to Sarah A, Martha, Albert Henry, Hubert Edgar, Jacob Leonard, Robert Percy, Kathleen E, Evelyn J H, Frank L V and Doris W. The family lived at Dobb Hall, Rothley at the time of Reuben's death. His brothers Albert Henry Bowler and Robert Percy Bowler were also killed in action and two others wounded.
