Bob Lovett to Jim Billsdon
BOB LOVETT
Bob Lovett lived at the shop in North Street. numbers 25 and 25a, then being one dwelling. The family later moved to 41 Hallfields Lane. Bob was educated at Thomas Rawlins Grammar School, Quorn, and when he left became articled to an Architect/Surveyor in New Walk, Leicester.
PETER PALMER
Peter Palmer lived in a terraced house in Howe Lane, the "road" between the rear of those and the rears of the ones in North Street being known as Cat Alley. Peter, like his father, was very keen on the game of golf and both regularly caddied at the Golf Club.
NORMAN COLTMAN
Norman Coltman was the son of George shown on the second row of the photo. After leaving Loughborough College School he became a plumber, later having his own business operating from Birstall.
TED NORTH
Ted North initially lived at a Pork Butchers Shop in North Street, later to become a Fish and Chip Shop. His family left to live in Cossington but Ted stayed in Rothley and lived with his grandmother and uncle in a house at the end of Cross Green. He later moved to Birstall.
JIM BILLSDON
Jim Billsdon lived with his mother and sister in the semi-detached house next to the council houses on the "Main Road" and was an avid listener of Children's Hour on the radio. The family later left the village and contact was lost.
