145 ORCHARD, TOWN GREEN STREET

OS REF:SK58021225

OS REF:SK58021225

Date: 2nd September 2002

This is a small, narrow piece of the original Rothley Park with just a few apple trees at the end closest to the cricket field.

2004

The owner, Tony Cooper, planted three varieties of Cider Apples in the half of the field closest to Rothley Brook.
In 2005 some of them were fruiting and in 2010 the apples were 'Wassailed' to ensure a good harvest in the autumn. They are now harvested for cider production.
