Wednesday 13th March 2002 I recorded:
This field is planted with winter wheat. A further visit will need to be made to note the hedgerows but mention needs to be made that the boundary with Long Spinney Site 271 in the east corner and the back gardens of houses along The Ridgeway contains a good amount of Dogs Mercury which indicates ancient woodland.

On the boundary with Bowlers Field Site 106 the following trees have been recorded:
Ash Tree 13 girth 3.5m
Oak Tree 14 girth 3.1m
Oak Tree 15 girth 3.8m
Ash Tree 16 girth 3.9m
Ash Tree 17 girth 3.7m
Oak Tree 18 girth 3.1m
The above trees have been documented and recorded as Ancient Trees as they have been set in the hawthorn hedgerow at spaced intervals and they form an important part of this field boundary.

On the boundary with 12 Acre Field Site 110 the following trees have been recorded:
Oak Tree 23 girth 3.7m
Oak Tree 24 girth 3.7m
Oak Tree 25 girth 2.5m
Oak Tree 26 girth 3.7m
Oak Tree 27 girth 2.5m
All recorded for the same reason as Trees 13-18.

Wednesday 11th September 2002 I recorded:
The field had been sown and drilled but we were still able to look for any possible Roman pottery or ancient flints although nothing of interest was found. There was a lot of evidence of more modern glazed pottery of the willow pattern variety.

The recordings from our stints are detailed below:
